Hi there! I’m Kristen Sweeney. It’s my mission as an artist to broaden our collective range of human experiences and foster compassion for one another.
I live for that tingly feeling I get when I’m watching a truly great performance, the kind that makes me see the entire world through different eyes. Having the chance to create those tingles for others is what inspired me to become an actor.
Fortunately for me, I’ve been able to broaden my own range of experience traveling across the country as a performer. I’ve explored the coastal cliffs of Maine at the Ogunquit Playhouse, and the sandy deserts of Vegas in Bally’s Jubilee. I’ve played young mothers (always a popular role for me), a fitness queen, a funeral parlor owner, and a feline!
There are as many ways to make the world a better place as there are people. When I first started performing, I thought a lot more about the roles that I would play than what role my work could have in other people’s lives. I am so grateful to be part of a profession shared by talented, hardworking artists who inspire me daily with their creative gifts.
I’m a Florida girl at heart- not only proud of my BFA from UF, but hooked on sunshine. I'm still unthawing from my two winters at the Boston Conservatory!
When I’m not working, auditioning, or taking class, I can usually be found getting my zen on in a yoga studio, picnicking in a city park, or reading a book while walking down the street (a la Belle).
I love quotes dearly, and want to share this one by Robert Schumann:
"To send light into the darkness of men's hearts- such is the duty of the artist."
I think pink is the perfect accent color.
That poodles make the best pets.
